This adoption has been very different than the last... This time I had a good idea of what was coming my way and I did a good job staying on top of all the paperwork. BUT this time I had two kids to take care of and the same old pile of life to have to deal with. For some reason this time around I didn't talk about it as much now that it is getting closer I feel like that is all I want to talk about. I think it has been hard to talk about because of all the changes we have made. In July when we started this process we decided that we wanted to adopt ONE little guy and as we went along September added another little guy to our heart and if you don't know yet I dragged my feet but early October God put a little lady on our hearts and I had to answer that call. So here we are the "crazy" Karols adopting 3 beautiful children and of course people have an opinion so I think I found it harder to talk about it in fear that the conversation would go to a place I didn't want to go making this process much more lonely than the first :( I am deffinatly over all that know because like it or not we are going forward with this and it is completely in Gods hands and I have to trust that and that alone!!!!
Paperwork wise there has been ups and downs, it is taking a bit longer than I had hoped but again God is a God of perfect timing and I am making sure to enjoy the time we have with Rorie and Cole before the other kids come home. I asked Rorie the other day if she wanted a little "big" sister and she smiled so big and said YES!!! She is such a big helper and she will be such a good Big sister!!! We had a pretty big mix up with a missing document but I am happy to as that Fred (my hero) got the document done and on their way to Ukraine... in spite our best effort the documents did not make it on time and half of our dossier expired. (For those of you that do not know for Ukraine dossier documents have a life time of 6mths on the dot; one day late and too bad it needs to be redone) So we worked our tails off and got everything done and set to Ukraine once more only to find a spelling error that we all missed. (Once a document is completed it needs to be notarized after that the notary needs to be apostilled, which is a fancy way of saying it needs to be made official. To get an apostile done you need to send the notarized document to your state capital "secretary of state building" where they attach a cover letter to each document stating that the person that notarized that document is allowed to legally notarize documents in the state you live in) Well my state capital spelled my notary's name wrong, her last name was Lobins and they spelled it Lobbins! So yet again we were back to the document run, I got everything redone AGAIN and this time we drove it out to Madison and went in! If you know me you will know that for the most part I am a pretty chill lady, I mean it takes a bit for me to get loud and stand up for my self. I have a GREAT friend that helped me find that fire and fight in me so when we got to Madison I was ready to make sure these document got done! I prayed the whole hour and half trip there that God would just give me the right things to say at the right time and that if I needed to he would make me speak up and I was READY! I walked into the office and pulled our new documents out and the copies of the errors out and calmly explained what happened. The lady that works there is NOT friendly I have had to speak to her a few times and so that is who I was nervous to have to deal with again. She didn't look at me at all she took the forms with out a word dropped them on another lady's desk and said, "these need to be redone we messed them up." Then she went to her desk and went back to work without a word. Fred and I looked at eachother blankly... the Fred asked, "Ummm should we come back or wait?" 20minutes later we walked out of that office with our redone documents at NO CHARGE, yes you read that right our government didn't charge us they said it was their mistake! WOW I was floored, Fred and I both said "Praise God and thank you lady's so very much" and that little lady SMILED at us, SMILED!
So our document have been redone and sent to Ukraine yet again but this time I am hoping is IT!!! We were submitted yesterday and now all we can do is wait to see if everything will be accepted!!! We are in need of constant prayer!!!
If you are on facebook I do keep pretty current on there but my plan is to keep my blog as up to date as possible but bear with me as I really am trying to soak up every second of being a mom of two!
